Overview
To reorder books in your reading notes, use the [Edit] menu → [Reorder] submenu. Select books first, then choose an operation to rearrange them in various ways.
All reorder operations support "Undo" and "Redo", so you can safely revert any accidental changes.
Basic Move
Move selected books up, down, or to the beginning/end of the list.
Operations
- Move Up
Move selected books one position up (earlier in the list). - Move Down
Move selected books one position down (later in the list). - Move to First
Move selected books to the very beginning of the reading notes. - Move to Last
Move selected books to the very end of the reading notes.
Tip
When multiple books are selected, they move together as a group.
Swap
Exchange the positions of two books.
How to Use
- Select exactly two books (Ctrl/Cmd+click)
- Go to [Edit] → [Reorder] → [Swap]
- The two books exchange positions
Note
You must select exactly two books. Selecting one or more than two will result in an error.
Drag & Drop
Drag books with your mouse to move them to any position.
Enable Drag & Drop
Select [Edit] → [Reorder] → [Enable Drag & Drop] to make books draggable. Select the same menu item again to disable it.
How to Use
- Drag the book you want to move (click and hold)
- Drop it at the desired position (release click)
- The book moves to the new position
Visual Feedback
While dragging, the book becomes semi-transparent, and a blue line shows the drop position. Dropping on the upper half inserts above, dropping on the lower half inserts below.
Move to Position
Move selected books to a specific position number.
How to Use
- Select the books to move
- Go to [Edit] → [Reorder] → [Move to Position...]
- Enter the destination position number (starting from 1)
- The books move to the specified position
Sort Selected Books
Sort selected books by specific criteria.
Sort Criteria
- Title Ascending/Descending: Alphabetical order (or reverse)
- Author Ascending: Alphabetical by author name
- Rating High to Low: By star rating, highest first
- Date Newest First: By most recent reading record
Tip
To sort all books, first select all with [Edit] → [Select All], then sort.
Reverse Order
Reverse the order of selected books.
Example
If books are in order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and you select 2, 3, 4 then reverse, the result is 1, 4, 3, 2, 5.
Sort by Series Number
Arrange series books in volume order.
Supported Title Formats
Volume numbers are automatically detected from titles like:
- "One Piece Vol. 1", "One Piece Vol. 2"...
- "Attack on Titan (1)", "Attack on Titan (2)"...
- "Harry Potter #1", "Harry Potter #2"...
- "Book Title Part 1", "Book Title Part 2"...
Stable Sort
Books without recognizable volume numbers keep their original order. Books with the same volume number also maintain their relative order.
Grouping
Group books by specific criteria.
Group by Reading Status
Group books by their reading status (Completed, Reading, Unread, Stalled). Books with the same status maintain their original relative order.
Order: Completed → Reading → Unread → Stalled
Group by Author
Group books by the same author together. Authors are sorted alphabetically. Books by the same author maintain their original order.
Save & Restore Order
Save the current book order and restore it later.
Save Order
- Go to [Edit] → [Reorder] → [Save Order...]
- Enter a name (default is current date/time)
- The order is saved in your browser
Restore Order
- Go to [Edit] → [Reorder] → [Restore Order...]
- Select from the list of saved orders
- Click the restore button
Note
Saved orders are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser data will also delete saved orders.
Undo & Redo
Undo or redo reorder operations.
- Undo Reorder
Cancel the last reorder operation. - Redo Reorder
Restore an operation that was undone.
History Limit
The reorder history keeps up to 50 operations.
Reorder in Book Catalog
You can also reorder books in the table view opened from [View] → [Book Catalog].
How to Use
- Select books using the checkboxes
- Click the "Reorder" button
- Choose an operation from the menu
Changes made in the book catalog are immediately reflected in the main window.
