Book List
Learn how to manage and display your registered books
What is the Book List?
"Book List" is a feature that allows you to view all books registered in "Reading Forest" at a glance.
It includes features for efficiently managing your books, such as switching display modes, sorting, and filtering.
Table View
View covers, titles, authors, progress and more in a table format
Sorting
Sort by title, author, progress, and various other criteria
Filtering
Filter by reading status or progress to quickly find the book you're looking for
Search
Search by title or author to display only matching books
Opening the Book List
- Open from Menu Select "View → Book List" from the menu bar.
- List Screen Appears All registered books are displayed in a list.
Press Ctrl+L to quickly open the book list.
Display Content
The book list displays registered books in a table format. You can drag column headers to change their order.
Cover
Book cover image (if set)
Title & Author
Book title and author name
Pages & Progress
Total pages and reading progress (with color-coded bar)
Last Read & Notes
Last reading date and note line count
You can toggle cover image visibility from the settings.
Sorting
You can sort the book list by various criteria.

| By Title | Sort alphabetically by title (A-Z) |
| By Author | Sort alphabetically by author name |
| By Total Pages | Sort by total page count |
| By Progress | Sort by reading progress (%) |
| By Last Read Date | Sort by last reading date |
| By Note Count | Sort by number of note lines |
- Click Column Header Click the header of the column you want to sort by (Title, Author, etc.).
- Toggle Ascending/Descending Click the same header again to cycle through ascending → descending → no sort.
Filtering
Filter to display only books that match specific criteria. Filters are configured from the settings screen.
Show Unread Books
Whether to display books not yet started (0% progress)
Show Completed Books
Whether to display finished books (100% progress)
Progress Range
Display only books within a specified progress range (%)
- Open Settings Select "Settings" from the menu to open the settings screen.
- Select the "Display" Tab You can configure filter conditions in the Display settings tab.
- Filter is Applied Only books matching the configured criteria are displayed on the main screen and book list.
Search Within List
Search registered books by title or author name.
- Enter in Search Box Type the book title or author name in the search box at the top of the list screen.
- Real-time Filtering As you type, only matching books are displayed in the list.
Partial matching is supported, so you can search with just part of the title.
Example: Search "Galaxy" to find "Night on the Galactic Railroad".
Selecting and Operating on Books
Select books from the list to perform various operations.
Click to Jump
a book row to scroll to that book in the main window
Open
Double-click a book to go to the reading screen
Copy & Cut
Copy or cut selected books (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X)
Paste
Paste copied books (Ctrl+V)
Print the book list
You can select multiple books using the checkboxes on the left side of each book. Use the header checkbox to select/deselect all.
Books from Bookshelf
"Books from Bookshelf" is a feature that allows you to view books from all files registered in your bookshelf (recent file history) in one comprehensive list.
You can see all books managed across multiple files in a single view.
- Book List: Shows books from the currently open file only
- Books from Bookshelf: Shows books from all files in your bookshelf combined

Opening Books from Bookshelf
- Open from Menu Select "View → Books from Bookshelf" from the menu bar.

Grant Access (for local files)
After restarting the browser, you may need to grant access permission for local files.
Click "Allow file access" to grant permission. - List Screen Appears Books from all files in your bookshelf are displayed in a list.
Display Modes
By File View
Books are grouped by file. Easily see which books are in which file.
Flat View
All books are displayed in a single list regardless of file. Useful for searching across everything.
Click a Book to Open
Click a book in the list to open the file containing it and automatically jump to that book.
Quickly access books even when they're spread across multiple files.
If you have unsaved changes in the current file, please save first before opening a book from another file.
To use "Books from Bookshelf", you need to enable the bookshelf feature in settings.
Go to Settings → General → Turn on "Enable bookshelf feature".
