To use keyboard shortcuts, you need to connect an external keyboard such as a Bluetooth keyboard.

Viewing the Shortcut List

You can view the full list in the Shortcuts tab of the settings screen (read-only)

1 Open Settings

Click [File][Settings] from the menu to open settings. Pressing F1 opens the Shortcuts tab directly.

2 Select "Shortcuts" Tab

Select "Shortcuts" from the tab menu at the top.

3 View Shortcut List

All keyboard shortcuts are displayed by category. This list is read-only; shortcut assignments cannot be changed.

File Operations

Shortcuts for saving, opening, and printing files

Ctrl+S Save (overwrite without dialog)
Ctrl+O Open file (shows storage selection dialog)
Ctrl+P Print (prints only selected books if any are selected)

Navigation

Shortcuts for the book list, creating records, and moving around

Ctrl+A Select all
Cut, copy, and paste work on selected text or books checked in the book list. Copying and pasting reading logs is a paid plan feature.

Google Drive Operations

Shortcuts for saving to and loading from Google Drive (paid plans only)

Browser Common Shortcuts

These are standard browser shortcuts, not specific to Reading Forest. They work on other websites as well.

The following shortcuts are browser features. Reading Forest cannot control them, so behavior may vary between browsers.
Shortcut Action
F11 Toggle fullscreen (press F11 again to exit)
F5 or Ctrl+R Reload page (unsaved data may be lost)
Ctrl+Shift+R Hard reload (ignore cache)
Warning
Reloading the page with F5 may cause unsaved edits to be lost. We recommend saving important data frequently with Ctrl+S.
