How to Move Books Between Reading Logs

In Reading Forest, you can move book data from one reading log (.rfnote file) to another. The available methods vary depending on your plan.

Method 1: Move via File

All Plans

This method saves selected books to a separate file and inserts them into the destination reading log.

Steps

  1. Select Books
    Open the source reading log and click the checkboxes of the books you want to move.
    Ctrl+click for multiple selection, Shift+click for range selection
  2. Save to Separate File
    Click the "Save to Separate File" button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
    Specify the destination and filename to save.
  3. Open Destination Reading Log
    Open the reading log where you want to move the books in another tab or window.
  4. Insert File
    Select [File] → [Insert File] from the menu bar.
    Select the file you saved earlier to insert the books.
  5. Delete from Original (Optional)
    Delete the moved books from the source reading log.
    * Skip this step if you want to keep them as copies
  6. Save Both Files
    Save both the source and destination reading logs to complete.

Tip

This method also serves as a backup, making it a safe choice when moving a large number of books.
