Solution

  • Double-check that your email address and password are correct
  • Make sure you're using the correct case (uppercase/lowercase) and character type
  • Try logging in with a different browser
  • If you forgot your password, go to "Reset Password" and click the [Send Reset Link] button to receive a reset email

In privacy mode or incognito mode, cookies may not be saved correctly. Please try using normal mode.

Cannot Connect to Google Drive

When clicking the "Connect to Google Drive" button in settings doesn't show the authentication screen or causes an error.

Solution

  • Check if pop-up blocker is enabled
  • Allow pop-ups for this site in your browser
  • Enable third-party cookies (required for Google OAuth authentication)
  • If you're already logged into a Google account, try logging out and then try again
  • Try using a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.)

Some browser extensions (such as ad blockers) may interfere with Google authentication. Try temporarily disabling extensions.

Data Saving & Sharing

Want to Use Data on Another Device

When you want to view data created on your computer on your smartphone, or share data across multiple devices.

Solution

  • Connect to Google Drive from the Settings screen
  • Save your data to Google Drive on your current device (Save button → Select Google Drive)
  • Connect to Google Drive with the same Google account on your other device
  • Load the saved file from Google Drive (Load button → Select Google Drive)

Reading Forest does not have automatic sync functionality. To share data between devices, you need to manually save to and load from Google Drive.

Books or Notes Disappeared

When books or notes you added are not displayed or seem to have disappeared.

Solution

  • Use the search function to look for the book or note
  • Click the [Settings] button, select the [Display] tab, and check "Show unread books" and "Show finished books"

Data is stored in your browser. If you clear browser data or use privacy mode, saved data may be lost. We recommend regularly saving important data to Google Drive.

  • Try using a different browser

If you accidentally deleted a book, you can restore it using the [Undo] button.

Solution

  • Make sure to click the "Save" button after entering your note
  • Check if your internet connection is working
  • Check if the note exceeds the character limit
  • Check if the note contains too many special characters or emojis

When entering long notes, we recommend saving frequently. Save regularly in case of browser crashes.

  • Check if the LaTeX notation is correct (example: $E=mc^2$)
  • Check if the opening and closing delimiters ($ or $$) are properly matched
  • Check if escape characters (\) are used correctly

Inline math uses $...$ and display math uses $$...$$. For more details on LaTeX notation, please refer to the "User Guide".

  • Restart your browser
