About Undo / Redo
Even if you make a mistake while editing, you can use the "Undo" feature to return to the previous state. The "Redo" feature lets you re-execute an undone action.
Undo
Cancels the previous action and returns to the state before it.
From Menu
Edit → Undo
Keyboard Shortcut
You can undo multiple times in a row to go back further in your editing history.
Select from History List
You can view the history list and jump back (or forward) to any point at once.
From Toolbar
Click the dropdown arrow next to the "Undo" or "Redo" buttons in the toolbar to display the history list.
From Menu
Hover over "Undo" or "Redo" in the Edit menu to see the history list in a submenu.
Each history item shows the following information:
- Book Title - Which book was edited
- Action - What was done (e.g., "Edit 2026/01/25 p.50-80")
- Elapsed Time - When it was done (e.g., "1m 30s ago")
Select an item from the history list to jump back to that point instantly. No need to click "Undo" multiple times.
Redo
Re-executes an action that was undone.
From Menu
Edit → Redo
Keyboard Shortcut
"Redo" is only available immediately after using "Undo". If you make new edits, the redo history is cleared.
Actions That Can Be Undone
The following actions can be undone or redone:
- Text Editing - Typing, deleting, or modifying notes
- Adding/Deleting Notes - Creating or removing notes
- Editing Book Information - Changing title or author
- Reading Record Changes - Changing progress or ratings
The following actions cannot be undone:
- Saving files
- Permanently deleting books (emptying trash)

About History
The undo/redo history has the following limitations:
- Session Only - History is cleared when you log out or close the browser
- Limited Actions - Only recent actions are remembered
- Per Book - Each book has its own history; switching books switches the history
It's a good idea to save your current state before making significant changes. Once saved, you can always return to that state.

"Redo" is only available after using "Undo". If you make new edits after undoing, the redo history is cleared.
Q: Can I undo after saving?
The save operation itself cannot be undone, but editing actions before the save can still be undone. However, history is lost if you close the browser.
Q: Can I recover a book I accidentally deleted?
Deleted books are moved to the "Trash". You can restore them from there. However, if you "Empty Trash", they cannot be recovered.
