About Logging Out
If you're using a shared computer or public terminal, we recommend logging out when you're done. Logging out prevents others from accessing your account.
How to Logout
- Click "File" in the menu bar
- Click "Logout" from the dropdown menu
- A confirmation dialog will appear
- Click "Logout" to confirm
Please save your reading notes before logging out. Unsaved changes may be lost.
What Happens When You Logout
When you log out, the following occurs:
- Session Ends - Your current login status is terminated
- Temporary Data Cleared - Session information stored in the browser is cleared
- Redirected to Login - You're redirected to the login page
Reading notes saved to Google Drive are not deleted when you log out. You can access them again when you log back in.
When to Logout
Using a Shared Computer
Always log out after using computers at libraries, schools, offices, or other shared environments.
Switching Accounts
If you want to log in with a different Google account, log out first and then log in again.
Security Reasons
Log out if you notice suspicious activity or as a regular security practice.
On your personal computer or smartphone, you don't need to log out every time. Staying logged in lets you start using Reading Forest immediately next time.

Q: Will my reading notes be deleted if I log out?
No. Reading notes saved to the cloud (Google Drive) are preserved even after logging out. You can access them when you log back in.
Q: Will my settings be reset if I log out?
No. Theme settings and app preferences are restored when you log back in.
Q: Can I be logged out automatically?
Yes, you may be automatically logged out after extended inactivity or for security reasons. Simply log in again if this happens.
Q: I can't find the logout button
It's in the File menu. Click [File]→[Logout].
