How to Format Text?

In Reading Forest, you can easily format text from the menu.

Apply Formatting from the Menu

Select text in the notes area, then choose [Edit]→[Decorate] from the menu to open the formatting modal. Simply click the formatting option you want to apply it to your selected text.

Use Display Mode

Text formatting is available when you select text in display mode (where notes are rendered with formatting). The formatting menu does not appear in edit mode (where you type text directly). To format text in edit mode, use shortcut notation instead.

3 Simple Steps

  1. Select text in display mode that you want to format
  2. Choose [Edit]→[Decorate] from the menu
  3. Pick an option from the formatting modal — formatting is instantly applied
