How do I backup my data?

Reading Forest offers two backup methods.

Method 1: Save to Local File

Save your data as a file on your computer or smartphone.

  1. Select "File" > "Save" from the menu at the top
  2. Choose where to save and click "Save"
  3. The file will be downloaded

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + S (Mac: Cmd + S)

Method 2: Save to Google Drive (Recommended)

Save to the cloud with your Google account and access from multiple devices.

  1. Select "Save to Google Drive" from the menu at the top
  2. Log in with your Google account
  3. Choose the destination folder and save

Important: Backup Regularly

If you only use local saves, data may be lost due to device failure or browser data clearing. We recommend saving files regularly or using Google Drive integration.
