Create a comfortable reading environment

Opening Theme Settings

Reading Forest allows you to choose between Light Mode and Dark Mode.

How to Access Settings

  • Open from Settings Button
    Click the settings button (gear icon ) in the upper right corner of the screen
  • Select the "Appearance" Tab
    When the settings screen opens, click the "Appearance" tab to display theme settings
  • Keyboard Shortcut
    Press Ctrl + M to quickly open the settings screen

Available Themes

Reading Forest offers two theme options to choose from. Understand the characteristics of each and select your preferred theme.

Theme Types

  • Light Mode
    Displays dark text on a light background. Ideal for working in bright environments during the day. Features an eye-friendly white-based design
  • Dark Mode
    Displays light text on a dark background. Ideal for working at night or in dark places, reducing eye strain. Features a calm black-based design

Choosing a Theme

Choose the optimal theme according to your usage environment and time of day. Please refer to the guide below.

Recommended Themes by Scenario

  • Light Mode for Daytime Work
    In bright environments, Light Mode offers superior visibility. Ideal for office work or working at home during the day
  • Dark Mode for Night or Dark Places
    In dark environments, Dark Mode reduces eye strain. Recommended for nighttime reading or working in dark rooms
  • Dark Mode Recommended for Reducing Eye Fatigue
    If your eyes get tired easily during long work sessions, try Dark Mode. The reduced screen brightness results in less eye strain

Tip

Dark Mode also has the effect of reducing battery consumption on devices with OLED displays.

Other Appearance Settings

In addition to theme settings, Reading Forest allows you to customize the following appearance settings.

Customizable Items

  • Font Size Adjustment
    You can change the text size. Adjust to a size that's easy to read (changeable in settings screen)
  • Display Density Adjustment
    You can change the display density of information. Choose according to your preference, such as compact display or standard display
  • Enable/Disable Tooltips
    You can toggle hints that appear on mouse hover on or off

Settings Tip

All of these settings can be changed from the "Appearance" tab in the settings screen. Changes are reflected immediately, so please explore to find your preferred display.
