Clear Sort
Use this feature when you want to return to the original order after sorting the book list.
How to Use
- From the Menu Bar
Select [View] → [Clear Sort] - Keyboard Shortcut
What is Sorting?
In the book list, you can sort books by title, author, registration date, etc. by clicking on column headers. "Clear Sort" returns the list to the original order saved in the file.
Tip
Sort state is not saved to the file. When you close and reopen the file, it displays in the original order.
Go to Top / Go to Bottom
These features allow you to quickly navigate to the top or bottom of the page when you have many books or long notes.

On Smartphones and Tablets
If you don't have an external keyboard, use the menu bar. Alternatively, you can quickly swipe the screen for similar navigation.
Close
This feature closes the currently open file and returns to an empty state.
How to Use
- From the Menu Bar
Select [File] → [Close]
Behavior
- If there are unsaved changes
A dialog will appear asking whether to save - If already saved
The file closes and returns to an empty reading notes screen
Opening Another File
If you want to open another file, you don't need to use "Close". You can directly select [File] → [Open] to open a new file. If there are unsaved changes, a dialog will prompt you to save.
Language
Reading Forest supports Japanese and English. You can switch the app's display language.
How to Switch
- From the Menu Bar
Select [View] → [Language] → [日本語] or [English] - Header Dropdown
You can also switch from the language selection dropdown in the header at the top right
Supported Languages

Tip
Language settings are saved in the browser, so the same language will be displayed on your next visit. Content recorded in your reading notes (book titles, memos, etc.) is not affected by language switching.
