Reading Forest doesn't directly access website files
You can manage files in two ways:

If you only use one computer at home
→ Use Local Files
If you also use a phone or tablet
→ Use Google Drive
How to share your reading logs
You can easily share your reading log files with others using Google Drive's sharing feature.
How to share
- Save your reading log to Google Drive from Reading Forest
- Open Google Drive (drive.google.com)
- Right-click the file → "Share" → Change to "Anyone with the link"
- Send the sharing link to others

Shared reading logs are view-only. Others can see but not change your original file.
Share on Your Home Network (LAN)
If your computers are connected to the same Wi-Fi or local network, you can open reading logs directly from a shared folder.
Windows
- Right-click the folder → select "Properties" → go to the "Sharing" tab → click "Share..."
- On another PC, open File Explorer and navigate to
\\ComputerName\SharedFolder
- In Reading Forest, use [File] → [Open] and select the reading log from the shared folder
Mac
- [System Settings] → [General] → [Sharing] → Turn on "File Sharing" and add a shared folder
- On another Mac, open Finder → [Go] → [Connect to Server] → Enter
smb://ComputerName
- In Reading Forest, use [File] → [Open] and select the reading log from the shared folder
No internet connection or Google account required. You can also access files from a NAS (Network Attached Storage) the same way.
