What is Notes and Thoughts?
In Reading Forest, you can freely write notes and thoughts about books, movies, and music. You can record everything from your experience including striking passages from books, memorable movie dialogue, favorite lyrics, and your own reflections.
Main Features
- Free-form Writing For each record, you can freely capture not only quotes and memorable lines but also your thoughts and analyses.
- Multi-line Support Use line breaks to organize text into paragraphs for easy reading. Long thoughts are displayed beautifully.
- Searchable Note contents are also searchable, so you can find past thoughts using keywords.
- Image URL Support Enter an image URL to display images within your notes. You can also record impressive scenes or movie stills.
Comments for the Entire Work
In addition to notes for each record, you can also record comments about the work as a whole. Write your thoughts after finishing a book, your excitement after watching a movie, or your impressions of an entire album.
- Overall Impressions Record your overall review after finishing a book, your thoughts after watching a movie, or your impressions of an album.
- Ratings and Reviews Rate with 5 stars, recommendation level, etc., using your own evaluation criteria.
- Tagging Include genres, themes, keywords in your comments to make them easier to categorize and search later.

📷 How to Insert Images in Notes
You can insert images stored on your device or take photos with your camera directly into notes. No Google account is required.
Steps to Insert Images
- Select the note field: Place your cursor in the note field where you want to insert an image
- Open the image insertion menu:
- Select [Edit]→[Insert]→[Image] from the menu
- Or click the [🖼️] button in full-screen edit mode
- Choose how to get the image:
- Choose from files: Select an image saved on your device
- Take a photo: Open the camera and take a photo on the spot
- Automatic processing: The selected or captured image is automatically inserted into your note
About Camera Capture
- Smartphone: Switch between front and back cameras
- Retake: Preview the photo after capture and retake if needed
- Quick capture: Capture impressive pages, diagrams, or movie tickets on the spot
How Images are Stored
- With Google Drive: Images are uploaded to Drive, keeping your file size small
- Without Google Drive: Images are automatically converted to WebP format, resized (max 1600px), and embedded directly in your reading log file
For heavy image use, connecting to Google Drive is recommended.
